Amotolongbo: Actually, nothing concern God, he didn’t manufacture the aeroplane, neither maintained nor managed it.
The lesson we are to learn, not what God wants us to learn.
Absolutely well said... Succinct.
You have an elevated understanding of this situation. God [derived from the English word Good] is impersonal, exists beyond space and time, and is WITHOUT gender BUT these folks randomly try to mould IT based on their own limited understand our existence for hundreds of years now through the mass mind control of the male-dominated priesthood/clergy. Period.
At least 7 people were killed after a helicopter crashed in a remote part of Uttarakhand in India at around 5:30 am on Sunday. The helicopter had seven people on board -- 5 adult engers, 1 infant and the pilot, according to Indian media reports.
Itsekiri people in Warri, Delta State have called on President Bola Tinubu, Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori and relevant security agencies to come to their aid, following alleged threat by the former leader of the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta, MEND, Oweizide Ekpemupolo also known as Tompolo and his people.
Communities allegedly affected by the threat include Ijaghala, Kantu, Obodo, Omadino, Ugborodo and other Itsekiri towns.
A stakeholder, who spoke on behalf of the Itsekiri people, Alex Oritsegbeyiwa Eyengho, in a Save Our Soul message to the government, alleged that there was an existential threat to his people in the hands of the Ijaws, particularly those of Gbaramatu, under the watch of Tompolo.
He said, “The urgent Save Our Souls cry is a cry borne out of Ijaghala and Kantu existential threat in the hands of the Ijaws, particularly those of Gbaramatu, under the watch of Tompolo.
”The death and arson threats reportedly issued to Ijaghala, Kantu, Obodo, Omadino, Ugborodo and other Itsekiri communities became intense recently when videos made by the Spokesman of Gbaramatu-Ijaw, Godspower Gbenekama and one other Ijaw youths began to trend on various social media platforms.
"The unacceptable gun-on-the-head reprieve conditions given by Tompolo and his gang to Kantu and Ijaghala communities is that the leadership of both communities should compulsorily address a press conference, where they must announce to the world that the Gbaramatu-Ijaw own both communities, failing which both communities shall be pulverized, sacked and the occupants killed!
“They have successfully got some Kantu people under duress to address the said press conference, and have fixed Friday, June 13, 2025, for the Ijaghala community to follow suit. Since the very unwilling Ijaghala community is next, there is palpable tension everywhere. I am not in doubt whatsoever of the capacity of Tompolo and his gang to carry out their threat against Ijaghala community.”
Eyengho also said, “During the wake of the endless fratricidal Warri crisis in the late 90s, Ijaghala community was the first community along the Escravos River to be completely pulverized and sacked by Tompolo and his Gbaramatu-Ijaw gang, and as such made indigenes and residents of the community to become internally displaced persons in Nigeria for over a decade. They did it before. They can do it again.
“A few years ago, the Ijaws did everything to enforce their burial culture on Ijaghala to the extent that they forcefully exhumed the corpse of my brother who was buried in the usual Itsekiri culture and reburied him in tandem with Ijaw burial culture! What could be more bizarre? The Ijaws have continued to use force of arms and intimidation from time to time on Ijaghala community as if the people are conquered!
“At some point, the leadership of Ijaghala community was pressurized to publish that the community wished to leave Mandagho Ward in Ugborodo federated communities and Gbaramatu Ward allegedly as directed by their king Tompolo.
”Apparently, the Ijaws are vexed that Ijaghala was captured by INEC and other Government official documents as an Itsekiri Community. The community, of course, warded off the pressure.
“Our position has always been that the three(3) units currently in Ijaghala community are an integral part of Mandagho Ward in Ugborodo federated communities. We cannot exit this Ward for any reason and Gbaramatu. If anything, we are pushing for a distinct Ward from our 3 units to be known as Ijaghala Ward.
Eyengho urged President Tinubu and Governor Oborevwori to call Tompolo to order and ensure he stops tormenting the people of Ijaghala and Kantu Communities with an alleged threat to forcefully evacuate and pulverize the communities if the leaderships refuse to abide by their “weird” and “insane” orders.
Even Tompolo's mother is an Itsekiri. Most of those Itsekiri communities were founded over 700 years ago by Ijebu people in that area. Nobody accomodated them and other Yoruba founders of Itsekiri communities in Delta State from largely Ilaje (Ugborodo), Ife (Ureju) ancestral roots, etc, according to the totally baseless posts of some ignorant people on page 1 of this thread.[/b] This is aside the year 1480 migration of Prince Ginuwa (the son of Oba Olua of Benin and his Ile Ife-born biological mother who was the only non-Benin-born Queen of Oba Olua) with 70 of his followers to live with the Ijebus (Itsekiris) of Ode Itsekiri and Chief Lenuwa received them well. Ginuwa thus
The oil and gas-rich Omadino, Ugborodo, Ogidigben, Ode-Itsekiri are some of the ancient Itsekiri communities that were founded by the Ijebus from the larger Yorubaland and this is why the Itsekiri language they speak is understood by Ijebus, Ikales and Ilajes. Just last year, the Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland, Gani Adams visited the Olu of Itsekiri on a courtesy visit and affirmed to the media the close bond between the Itsekiris and the larger Yorubas who are their close relatives. Gbaramatu itself is an Itsekiri territory and the Supreme Court confirmed and affirmed that the areas the Ijaws are occupying belong to the Itsekiris. The so-called Gbaramatu was never a kingdom but ONLY created artificially only in much recent history. The Ijaws are the aggressors here and are definitely depending on the use of jazz and Egbesu because they do NOT believe in the rule of law and what the Supreme Court says. BUT if the Itsekiris decide to link up with their Ijebu, Ilaje, Ife, and Benin kith and kin, the Ijaws led by Tompolo will face intense physical and metaphysical forces. They should stay off as a minority from threatening the Itsekiris from here on out! The Ijebu metaphysical forces alone can deal with the Ijaw encroachment nuisance.
The Ijaws are actually of migrant Ghanaian origin or boat people who arrived in that region living largely on water and this why the Ijaws of the central Niger Delta are the ONLY ethnic group in Nigeria that practice the matrilineal system just like in Ghana unlike other Nigerian ethnic groups their immediate neighbours. The Ogoni Senator Magnus Abe ALSO CLEARLY stated on his Website that the Ijaws are migrants or boat people from Ghana.
Even the Ogoni people are more truthful about their own ancestral origins and the Ogoni Traditional Council head affirmed in an interview I read in Punch newspaper years back that the Ogoni people are a mixture of Ibibio and migran boat people and fisherman from Ghana and this is why their names are similar to the names used in parts of Ghana.
Without a shadow of doubt, there is still gonna be full-scale war in the near-future over the obstinacy of the Ijaws who are of Ghana origin and are trying to steal lands from other ethnic groups. That's the usual character of greed from some of them once oil and gas is discovered in any new location. The Ijaws have even been stealing lands from one another (their fellow Ijaws of other clans for decades) as seen in events that took place in Bayelsa State (back in the 1990s into the early 2000s) including the encroachment of migrants fishermen from Nembe now in Bayelsa State who were accomodated by their Kalabari cousins in the Soku fishing settlement ONLY for the Nembe migrants decades later to start claiming that Soku belongs to them because of the multi-million USD Soku Gas project. This led to an all-out war from the 1970s and it peaked during GEJs Presidency and this led to the boundary issues between Rivers State and Bayelsa State.
Glimpsetv:
The only person who survived the tragic Air India crash, Vishwashkumar Ramesh, described the terrifying moment the plane failed to take off properly—and his complete disbelief at surviving it.
Ramesh, a British citizen with Indian roots, was on board the flight bound for London. The plane crashed just moments after departing from Ahmedabad, a city in northwestern India, on Thursday afternoon. Tragically, 241 people on the aircraft lost their lives, along with at least 29 people on the ground. By late Friday, rescue workers had found 25 more bodies in the wreckage.
This crash is now considered one of India’s deadliest aviation disasters. It was also the first crash involving a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner since the aircraft was introduced in 2009, according to the Aviation Safety Network.
Speaking from a government hospital, Ramesh told India’s national broadcaster what he ed. According to him, the aircraft seemed to freeze in the air just seconds after takeoff. He recalled green and white lights flashing and the engines roaring, but the plane failed to climb. It then crashed into a residential building that housed a medical college hostel.
He witnessed the horrifying sight of engers and crew dying around him. His own brother, who was traveling with him, was among those who didn’t survive.
Ramesh had been seated in seat 11A. That part of the plane slammed into the ground floor of the building. After the impact, he quickly unbuckled his seatbelt and managed to push himself out through a nearby open door.
“When I opened my eyes, I couldn’t believe I was still alive,” he said. He ed seeing pieces of the destroyed plane scattered all around.
Though injured, especially with burns on his left hand, Ramesh somehow walked away from the crash site—still in shock. A few local residents saw him and helped him reach an ambulance, which rushed him to the hospital.
Back home, his family was in turmoil. His other brother, Nayan Kumar Ramesh, told Sky News that Ramesh had video-called their father shortly after the crash. “He said, ‘The plane crashed. I can’t find my brother. I don’t see any engers. I don’t even know how I’m alive or how I got out,’” Nayan recalled.
Ramesh also ed relatives in Leicester, UK. His cousin, Ajay Valgi, said Ramesh only told the family that he was okay. "He just said he's fine—nothing more," Valgi said. Ramesh is married and has a young son. The family, while thankful for his survival, remains heartbroken over the loss of his brother.
India’s Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, visited the crash site on Friday. He also met Ramesh in the hospital. “I told him what I saw,” said Ramesh. “He asked me about my health.”
According to Dr. Dhaval Gameti, Ramesh had multiple injuries and was initially confused but was now stable and out of danger. He even kept his boarding with him while in the hospital.
“He’s recovering well and could be discharged very soon,” Dr. Gameti confirmed.
Eyewitnesses were stunned to see the lone survivor—bruised, burned, but alive—limping his way to the ambulance that carried him away from the scene of so much tragedy.
Ramesh's grand survival (with his Air India boarding still on him and well-preserved) despite the horrendous plane crash and explosion on impact with the buildings on the ground is a "9th wonder of the modern world."
I thought it was a hoax until I saw Ramesh who is a practicing Hindu and the flight ticket and thought briefly that he may have used Indian metaphysical powers fortify himself to escape (like others have been said to do in Yorubaland and parts of Nigeria when accidents or dangers occur).
I will still continue to fly regularly since it's still the fastest means of travel, but my eyes are now more focussed on airlines with Airbus or Embraer planes in their fleet until Boeing sorts itself out especially with that story of the Boeing whistleblower who was found dead after talking about structural defects on some Boeing planes.
What is wrong with some of you to the extent you are so miserable and joyless? Did you arrive the world depressed and bitter?
PBAT was not the leader under who Ken Saro-Wiwa and the Ogoni Nine were convicted and recieved "punishment".
He has done what is fitting as the leader of Nigeria today and the Saro-Wiwa family have thanked him. Move on, give credit where due and stop crying more than the bereaved.
Imagine the arrant insult (by that boy on page one) on the memory of the innocent Ken Saro-Wiwa and his fellow kinsmen who were framed up in 1994 and execute in 1995 despite the robust intervention of the United States, the United Kingdom and the United Nations. This was an event that I followed back then and those who framed Ken Saro-Wiwa up confessed later that they were bribed to give FALSE testimony at that Military tribunal.
Read the Amnesty International reports on the unjust executions which was simply an opportunity for that corrupt military dictator called Abacha to take revenge against Kennfor resisting the exploitation of his people by the military rulers and Shell.
That boy you quoted is one of the dysfunctional youngsters here who is still in his twenties (based on an earlier post he made and he's from the tribe east of river Niger), but engages in useless sophistry on this discussion forum. You gave a very succinct response to him there.
It's time for the super s to start removing and bannings these creeps and dysfunctional posters who derail threads openly because it's a pure violation of NL rules. That so-called block button is ONLY superficial and doesn't solve the problem of toxic disinformation and trolling by paid ipob troll farms online. The registration process of new NL s with free throwaway email s is what has to be looked into urgently by the guy who established this Website.
Princess Iman Pahlavi, the granddaughter of the last royal ruler Shah of Iran, Emperor Mohammad Pahlavi, has tied the knot with her long-time boyfriend in the City of Love after the couple's court marriage in New York.
Iman, 31, and American Jewish businessman Bradley Sherman said 'I do' in a private ceremony in Paris as of the Iranian royal family gathered in the French capital to bless the newlyweds on June 8.
The daughter of Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi and Princess Yasmine Pahlavi, Iman wore an ethereal, off-shoulder Elie Saab gown with detacheable sleeves as her American beau picked a black tuxedo for the day.
According to Iranian media outlet Kayhan Life, the ceremony was attended by Queen Farah - who was 21 when she married Shah Mohammad Reza in Tehran in 1959 - as well as 'prominent Iranian figures'.
The first images from the couple's lavish Parisian wedding were posted on Instagram by Iman's sister Noor Pahlavi and other attendees, with Iman reposting the snaps on her own social media s.
US-born Iman, who works as a senior manager at American Express in New York, walked down the aisle with her father - Iran's former crown prince Reza.
The large Iranian-American community (with most being the direct descendants of the exiles from the 1979 Iranian Shiite invasion and overthrow of the Shah of Iran) do NOT have issues with the Jews. Matter of FACT, based off of my advanced knowledge of decades of international history, when the Shah of Iran was on the throne, the Jewish community in Tehran alone was high and Shiraz in Iran was the major epicenter of Jewish immigration from other countries of Europe and the Caucasus region into Iran by enger ships many decades ago.
Historically, Cyrus the Great (the King of Kings or Shah han Shah) who founded the Achaemenid Empire in 550 BCE and ruled it until his death in 530 BCE, was a Zoroastrian by religion till he died and was the Emperor of the Persian Empire that colonised the former Babylonians in 539 BCE and hence the ancient Jews who were colonised by the Babylonians.
The Persian (Iranian) religion of Zoroastrianism for those who don't know gave birth to the most dominant Pharisaic branch of Judaism (the term Pharisees being etymologically DERIVED from "Persian or Parsi" referring to modern IRAN) the Persian empire's colonial rule of Israel which is an imperfect copy of the Zoroastrian religion. This is why it is CLEARLY stated that the God of the bible refered to Cyrus the Great great as "My anointed" in the book of Isaiah 45:1 which is just a further affirmation of Persian propaganda in the Old testament bible. Now, why would the supposed God of the Jews allow the Jews to be colonised or subjugated by a person of another ethnicity and religion of a Zoroastrianism? It was all Persian religious colonization and propaganda in the so-called Old testament bible texts through the use of the Persian Magis who are the Chief Priests of the Zoroastrian religion (who brought in the teaching of "Ahuramazda" meaning the concept of "one universal God of heaven" with the "Shah or King" being the spiritual representative of God or Ahuramazda on Earth) to the Jews as opposed to the polytheistic religions they practiced in ancient times (the spelling "El" as a suffix refers to the concept of Gods NOT one God in ancient Israeli) which is why it is recorded that there was resistance to the foreigners who "wanted to rebuild the temple" which in reality is their own temple based on their own Zoroastrian religion in Jerusalem. It is this new religion that metamorphosed into the Pharisees (Pharisaic branch of Judaism) who are the largest historical branch in Judaism today).
Cyrus the Great supposedly allowed Jewish people to return to Jerusalem and rebuild the temple, BUT their was resistance to that? Resistance by who? The ORIGINAL followers of the older Israeli religion who resisted the new religion of Cyrus the Great and his religious Chief Priests or agents called Magis of the Zoroastrian religion who brought a new religion from Persian to Israel. This is common in every Empire or colony where the conquerors impose OR bring in their religion, culture, and language on the colonized people.
So historically, the Persians and Jews have had strong historical connections from the days of Cyrus the Great (The King of Kings or Shah han Shah) several centuries back.
There are many advanced modern books I've read since the 1980s on comparative religion that cover this topic and historical religious relationship between ancient Persia and the Jews.
A horrendous aviation experience just 32 seconds after liftoff involving the first ever Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner crash since it was first produced in 2011.
It's totally surreal that 1 person walked out of that plane alive despite the explosive impact on hitting the ground. Seeing the video of the British-Indian guy walking away from the scene (after leaving his strapped seat near the emergency exit door of the Dreamliner wreckage) like he wasn't even on that Air India flight shows the random and non-random nature of human existence. He however lost his brother who was on the same flight heading to London from Ahmedabad Airport with him.
My profound condolences to the families of those who lost there loved ones on board flight 171, on the ground, and the entire people of the most populous country on Earth (officially since 2023) - India.

Late Afrobeat pioneer Fela Kuti has been honoured with induction into the 2025 Grammy Hall of Fame for his iconic 1976 album Zombie.
Established in 1973 by the Recording Academy, the Grammy Hall of Fame recognises recordings that are at least 25 years old and hold enduring artistic or historical significance.
Inductees are chosen each year by a dedicated committee made up of distinguished and experienced professionals from various fields within the recording industry.
Femi Kuti, Fela’s eldest son, accepted the award on behalf of the family, describing the recognition as an “honour.”
“Our father’s legacy lives on. We are honoured to accept this Grammy Hall of Fame award on behalf of Fela Anikulapo Kuti,” Femi wrote on X on Wednesday.
“His music continues to inspire and unite people across the world.”
The legendary Afrobeat musician died on August 2, 1997.
Almost thirty years after his ing, Fela Kuti remains a powerful symbol of influence, celebrated for using his music to speak out on issues impacting Nigeria.
Following his early time overseas, Kuti rose to fame in Nigeria during the 1970s alongside his band, Africa 70.
In 1970, he established the Kalakuta Republic, a self-declared commune that symbolically rejected Nigeria’s military regime.
The Kalakuta Republic was demolished during a raid in 1978, and in 1984, Fela was imprisoned by the federal government under Muhammadu Buhari’s leadership.
Following his release, Fela remained active in music, recording and performing throughout the 1980s and 1990s.

RE: Why Tinubu CAN Deliver Economic Reform , With Facts, Not Feelings
I respect Dr. Agbakoba a lot, but let’s not ignore the facts. Saying Tinubu cannot deliver meaningful economic reform because of the current political structure is half the story, and honestly, it downplays some major steps already taken that many countries are still struggling to get right.
Let’s break it down with intelligent analysis, global data, and real results.
Tinubu Is Laying the Foundation , Real Change Takes Root Before It Shows
Yes, GDP is growing at 3.3%, and no, we may not all feel it yet. But go check how it started in places like India or Indonesia , reforms always start with pain, then progress. If you remove fuel subsidy, unify the Forex market, and clean up corruption, you’ll feel the heat first before the benefits come.
But guess what?
Those changes are exactly what Tinubu is doing:
Key Reforms Already in Motion
1. Fuel Subsidy Gone·
* Saved ₦7 trillion+ yearly, now going into infrastructure, health, and transport.
2. Forex Unification·
* No more multiple exchange rates. Investors now see a fairer system.·
* FDI is already rising, and the black market is shrinking.
3. Roads, Rails, Ports·
* 1,000+ km of roads and major logistics
corridors under construction.·
* Inland dry ports = more trade and jobs.
4. Power Reforms·
* Siemens partnership is rolling out.·
* States now allowed to generate and distribute power.·
* Lagos and Edo already jumping on it.
5. Agricultural Push·
* Over 3 million farmers already getting inputs, credit, and buyers.·
* Food inflation is slowing down, still high, but better than before.
Global Experts Agree: Reform First, Then Restructure
* World Bank, IMF, and OECD all say: focus on stabilizing the economy before major power devolution.
* You don’t hand over more power to states when many can’t even pay salaries. First, build capacity. Then restructure.
Tinubu Is Already Working on Restructuring * A constitutional committee is already reviewing how to give states more power over mining, power, and infrastructure.
* Local government reform is also on the table just not the loud, dramatic type people expect.
My final words on this:
The truth is, reform stake time. If Nigeria had kept jumping from plan to plan, we’d still be importing toothpicks and wasting oil money on fake subsidies.
So instead of saying “he can’t,” let’s track what’s already working and demand consistency and speed , not throw away the only real reform train we’ve had in decades.
The hardship is real ,but so is the direction. Let’s not throw away progress because it hasn’t yet matured.
@naijapeoplesprosperitypact
Interesting takes right there. "REFORM FIRST, RESTRUCTURE LATER."
ACHILLES45:
The war in Iran is because of this. Leave all the noises aside of nuclear weapons. This is the reason for war.
America sanctions and go to war for specific reasons. All economic and global dominace in economics. That's it. No other reason. Other reasons are tabled against citizens of the west to approve the war so they can send their children to go fight the wars.
So what's happening here?
China and Iran are underway building a railway that will connect China to Europe with Iran being the transfer terminal of Chinese goods to various European countries.
This means an old silk road is being constructed, but instead of horses and camels, the goods will travel in high speed Chinese trains. This will remove the burden of sea freight.
Who own ship companies and insurances?
Europeans and American companies owns Maersk, Evergreen and many sea supply cargo ships. UK and EU controls most of the insurances. Because trains will be faster and owned by China, now China will own the insurances and the rail cargo supply chains.
This means the west loses trillions because of this rail infrastructure.
Iran benefits in this project because sanctions works like this. When sanctions are tabled against Iran, it means no cargo ship will take goods to Iran, and if a cargo ships agrees, no insurance company will cover that ship. So without being insured, you have to charge fees very high to supply Iran or supply Iranian goods to the world. Then no one will buy those goods because they arrive expensive. That is the role of sanctions. Sanctions work when transport and insurance don't want to touch you.
So sanctions will no longer work on Iran with this project and Iran will become a regional super power.
Israel is an enemy to Iran.
If this project succeed, the existence of Israel in the region is threatened. When you put away the Bible or the Torah, this current Israel is not the Israel of Judea and Sunmeria in those books. This is a settlement, a colony and an occupation of Arabs. It is not different from what happened in South Africa. And people governing this settlement they named Israel are not from the middle east, they are white people from East Europe from countries like Russia, Ukraine, Romania etc. They have no connection to that land or ancient Hebrews. People who have connection to that land are those bombed in Gaza, West Bank, Lebanon, Syria etc. Those are ancient Hebrews who later converted to Islam.
So Arabs knows this fact. The only reason Arab capitals like Saudi Arabia helps the religious Jews on occupying Palestine is because they are afraid of what America will do to their beautiful countries. America can say Saudi Arabia is a Sharia state and needs freedom and Saudi Arabia will turn into Gaza.
However, Arabs are also afraid of Persian dominance. Because Arabs and Persians have fought many wars over centuries and America knows how to play this division.
Russia and China are trying to tell Arabs that they have protection under BRICS, but Saudis and Emirates are not really afraid of what Iran might do if it becomes powerful, they are more afraid of America and they are not sure if China can deter America yet.
So this is a test of character on the Chinese, will they fold when Iran gets invaded? Or US strategy is to disturb the project without going to war?
If there will be strikes on Iran every 6 months by Israel, then they will effectively disturb the project.
The "nuclear bomb" story is a hoax. Iran needs unclear energy to power this project. Israel is bombing civilian nuclear fissle material to delay the project and hope America comes in and end the project.
So this is the fundamental truth. Everything else is just propaganda.
Interesting perspectives though...
So what's happening here?
China and Iran are underway building a railway that will connect China to Europe with Iran being the transfer terminal of Chinese goods to various European countries.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has commended the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Barrister Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, and his dedicated team for the successful completion and delivery of 17 vital infrastructure projects within the FCT to commemorate his second year in office.
The commendation came during the commissioning of the 15-kilometer left-hand service carriageway of the Outer Southern Expressway (OSEX), stretching from Ring Road I to Wasa Junction in Abuja.
President Tinubu, who was represented at the commissioning ceremony by the Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio also applauded the FCT Minister for his unwavering commitment to providing essential infrastructure that positively impacts the lives of FCT residents.
He described the OSEX as Abuja’s crucial transport backbone, emphasizing its role in connecting the city center to rapidly expanding districts such as Apo, Lokogoma, Gudu, Wumba, and Wasa, thereby significantly enhancing urban mobility.
"This road, stretching from Ring Road I all the way to Wasa Junction, is a significant addition to the road networks in the heart of Abuja. This vital infrastructure demonstrates our commitment to sustainable urban development, enhanced mobility, and improved quality of life for the people of the FCT and by extension, to all Nigerians and visitors alike", President Tinubu stated.
The President also praised the impressive quality of work on the OSEX and acknowledged the Minister's efforts to relocate the Apo Mechanic Village traders, expressing confidence that the exercise would be brought to a successful conclusion.
He further commended the surrounding communities for their patience and during the construction phase, urging FCT residents to protect the new infrastructure.
“I commend the FCT istration led by the Hon. Minister, Barrister Nyesom Wike and the contractor, Messrs CGC Nigeria Limited for the impressive feat and quality of work. Through Wike’s leadership, uncompleted projects have been reactivated and delivered with discipline, quality and timeously. Like the Minister described, they had to cut through the rock for 5 kilometers in order to bring about this road.
“The Minister has also promised the mechanic village that has been here since 1991, that they will be relocated and they said they are happy. They expressed it by answering it. If there is something I know about you; it’s the fact that you don’t like anybody breaking agreements. Agreement is agreement. So, today you have an agreement with the good people of the FCT. Remain focused and continue to deliver. Nobody will you for the way you answered your critics. They will only you for the legacies you are leaving on ground”, the President added.
Speaking earlier, the FCT Minister Barrister Nyesom Wike expressed gratitude for President Tinubu's personal commitment and presence at the commissioning of completed projects in the FCT.
He reaffirmed the FCT istration's dedication to completing all ongoing projects in line with the President's Renewed Hope Agenda, crediting the from the President and the National Assembly for the successes achieved thus far.
Barrister Wike stated that the OSEX road project has already improved connectivity within the FCT, allowing easier access from Wasa to Takushara and Ketti, in the Abuja Municipal Area Council.
While committing to the dualisation of the main OSEX carriageways, the FCT Minister equally pledged to personally supervise and ensure the relocation of the Apo Mechanic Village along the road corridor.
He said, "Mr. President, as I speak to you, where we are sitting now, we are going to dualize this road to finally address anything about traffic in this area. Secondly, we have told the Mechanic Village; they said since 2011, they have promised them they will relocate them. Ours is not a promise. Ours is that we are going to do it. I will supervise it, I will chair the relocation"
LAUDS FCT MINISTER OVER PROJECTS DELIVERY
Everyone seems happy here. Tbh, I've had a blase attitude toward Wike in the past while he was in charge of Rivers State, BUT I've read a lot of positive comments about Nyesom Wike from the FCT residents who say he's literally the best ever FCT Minister. That's a positive quality cholerics have... The intensity they put into their work life makes them into achievers.
The flag with the coat of arm is exclusive ONLY for the PRESIDENT according to SECTION 3(1) of the FLAG AND COAT OF ARM ACT. So anyone other than the President has NO right to use the Nigeria flag with the coat of arms.

Awesome, I have to bookmark this right away. @Naptu thanks a lot for pointing this your very important thread out to me again. I'll post the link to this thread on the other thread that just hit the front page today.
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has thwarted a desperate attempt by a woman, Ihensekhien Miracle Obehi, who disguised herself with a hijab to export large consignments of cocaine concealed in her private part, stomach, and the false bottom of her handbag to Iran via Port Harcourt International Airport, Rivers State.
Obehi, dressed in a hijab in an attempt to evade security checks, was intercepted at the departure hall of Port Harcourt airport on 3rd May 2025 while trying to board a Qatar Airways flight to Iran via Doha, following credible intelligence.
As a result, she was placed under excretion observation, and after four rounds of excretion spanning several days, she expelled the 67 wraps of cocaine from her stomach. She claimed she had intended to swallow 70 pellets but, after ingesting 67, was unable to consume the remaining three and opted to conceal them in her private parts. The total weight of the three consignments hidden in different parts of her body was 2.523 kilograms.
Similarly, NDLEA operatives at Lagos International Airport intercepted a 22-year-old British national, Campell Kaizra Kofi Johannes Slifer, on 9th May while arriving from Thailand via Doha on a Qatar Airways flight. He was found in possession of two suitcases containing 35 parcels of Loud, a potent strain of cannabis weighing 37.60kg.
That's an Edo name but is she really from Edo State? Based off of credible data on hard drugs trafficking mules, many of them usually don't use their real names to commit these crime BUT use forged international travel documentations.
She should be properly investigated and then punished for her stupidity in trying to traffick hard drugs to the Islamic Republic of Iran of all places where she would have faced the death penalty through beheading. I'm really pissed off right here... are a lot of these Nigerians so dumb that they don't read about the death penalties in these other countries even in the local Nigerian languages? She should just thank her stars she got detected by the NDLEA.
Two wrongs do not make a right.
It is only the president who is allowed to use the Nigerian flag with the coat of arm on it.
Both Obi and Sanwo Olu are wrong to use the flag with a coat of arm on it.
LET ME EDUCATE YOU AND EVERYONE
WHY THE PRESIDENT USES THE FLAG WITH THE COAT OF ARM ON IT.
1. Distinction of Office (Presidential Standard)
The flag with the coat of arms is known as the Presidential Standard. It is a variation of the national flag used specifically by the President of Nigeria. The coat of arms in the center signifies that the flag represents the office of the President, not just the country in general.
This version is flown or displayed:
At the President’s official residence (e.g., Aso Rock).
On vehicles, aircraft, or podiums when the President is present.
At international or state functions involving the President.
2. National Flag vs. Presidential Flag
The national flag (green-white-green, without the coat of arms) represents Nigeria as a nation and is used by the general public, institutions, and at most official events.
The Presidential version (with the coat of arms) represents the authority of the President specifically.
This practice aligns with global norms. Many countries have a modified version of the national flag for their heads of state or military leaders (e.g., the U.S. Presidential Seal on the U.S. flag, or the UK Royal Standard for the monarch).
ARE GOVERNORS PERMITTED TO USE THAT FLAG?
No, state governors in Nigeria are not authorized to use the national flag with the coat of arms on the white stripe—that version is reserved exclusively for the President and represents the federal executive authority.
VERDICT: Buhari was right to use the flag with the coat of arm on it. Obi and Sanwo Olu were wrong to use the flag with the coat of arm on it.
Thanks.
@Naptu2 is the ultimate resource person who can add more insights on to this thread. I he emphasized on this topic on his thread a couple of years ago. I can't readily find the post he made right now but will post the link here if I can create time to find it.
Second, is Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State right or wrong to use the Nigerian flag with the coat of arms on it? Peter Obi obviously has NO basis to use the flag with the coat of arms because he's currently NOT a political office holder.
Tbh, semi-literacy is a huge disease that befuddles the minds of the victims. Period.
If the person had not claimed that the book was approved by NERDC, no one would care.
The Ugbos who are ORIGINALLY from Ife but now in the oil and gas-rich Ilaje area of Ondo State are pure Yorubas and are the ones the Ooni of Ufe (Ife) was referring to here and not the Ibo tribe east of river Niger. It's crazy how people's comments get twisted by highly uninformed people. For those younger ones who don't know this, again the "Igbo" spelling is a very recently coined spelling that ONLY started creeping into the newspapers, books, etc, after the year 2000. Even in the 1990s, we ONLY used IBO officially in Nigeria and even abroad. In the over 100 years before that we ONLY LARGELY used IBO to denote the tribe east of river Niger. Period.
chopnaira: This is beyond madness. The persistent attempts by certain individuals to insert the Igbo identity into Yoruba history are not just misleading—they are disgraceful and, frankly, sinister. A warning bell was rung decades ago. In a letter published in the Times Literary Supplement on 24 October 1975, D.A.N. Jones foresaw the confusion that could arise from shifting the spelling of “Ibo” to “Igbo”(see attached). He specifically used the example of Ijebu-Igbo to illustrate how such a change could distort geographical and historical understanding. What Jones could not have anticipated was the emergence of mischievous revisionists like @ChurchillNwagwu, whose objective seems less about historical clarity and more about historical colonization.
Here are the facts. Up until the mid-1970s, "Ibo" was the most commonly used spelling in literature and documentation. While variants such as "Igbo," "Heboe," and "Eboe" appear in texts, "Ibo" dominated most records. Regardless of spelling, the term was coined outside the present-day Igbo region. It was a label applied externally, mainly by slavers and slave traders. The earliest written reference to the name dates back to 1627, when Spanish priest Alonso de Sandoval used it in a list describing “a group of forty to fifty independent villages who recognized no king, fought regularly, often sold their women and children as slaves, and were all cannibals.” In several Niger Delta dialects, “Igbo” meant “slave,” and even among communities west of the River Niger, the term carried a similar derogatory connotation.
Because of its pejorative foreign origin, the term was rarely adopted as an ethnic self-identifier until much later. It was often used to describe “others,” “strangers,” or “slaves.” In Onitsha, for example, the term was commonly applied to people from the interior with a connotation of 'backwardness'. Even Nnamdi Azikiwe, in his 1930 article Fragments of Onitsha History, used “Igbo” to refer to neighboring tribes. It was only in the 20th century, with the rise of pan-ethnic consciousness, that the term was retroactively enriched with ethnic content to describe a unified Igbo identity.
In contrast, Yoruba history is well documented and internally consistent. As a group, the Yoruba had limited with the Igbo until the 1930s. Yet, in recent times, we are seeing audacious attempts by some Igbo writers to claim ancestral links to Ife, the spiritual home of the Yoruba. Entire books, authored even by PhD holders, have been written to justify this fantasy, often citing a single recent royal gaffe as their “evidence.” But the historical record contradicts them. The Ugbo people, whose name is often misappropriated in these narratives, still exist and are indisputably Yoruba. Their oral traditions and the Ife creation myth corroborate each other, firmly rooting them in Yoruba cosmology.
Moreover, Yoruba towns like Ijebu-Igbo, Igbo-Ora, and others being claimed by these revisionists predate any known use of “Igbo” as an ethnic identifier in southeastern Nigeria. These are towns with rich, established histories, well before any collective identity known as “Igbo” emerged in its current form.
This rewriting of history is not only intellectually dishonest - it is an act of cultural theft. To impose a fabricated narrative on Yoruba heritage in the name of “shared ancestry” or “common identity” is to erase the real histories of real peoples. And we will continue to resist all such attempt.
Succinctly stated.
But I MUST further emphasize here and now that the spelling IBO was still being widely used right from the late 1800s [when the great linguist and Anglican clergyman Bishop Samuel Ajayi Crowther wrote the FIRST EVER book in Ibo language in Onitsha entitled: "ISOAMA-IBO Primer" in 1855 and the book image is ATTACHED right BELOW] till after the year 2000 in major Nigerian newspapers such as Guardian, PUNCH, Daily Times, DRUM, etc, books, official government publications and more.
I still have newspapers, magazines, books and official goverment documentations from the 1960, 1970s, 1980s, 1990s right into the 2000s that widely used the spelling IBO. It was after the year 2000 that I started noticing "Igbo" creeping in gradually as the name of the tribe east of the river Niger. For the younger generation of Ibos who were still babies or not yet born in the 1980s right into the 1990s, they do NOT know or realize that newspaper and magazine publications ONLY used the spelling IBO and NOT "Igbo" to officially describe their collective subgroups. Even Achebe's books published in the 1960s right into the 1990s for instance all had IBO and not "Igbo!"
Some of us who are older in age find it very amusing when some of these younger Ibos come online to start correcting others by saying the spelling of their tribe is "Igbo" and not IBO and I'm like, "Does this person even know that the alternate spelling "Igbo" as the name of the tribe east of river Niger is a very recent creation that gained traction ONLY after the year 2000?"
I still use IBO in my posts because that is what we widely used to denote a tribe back in the day and NOT this newer spelling of Igbo. IGBO as a spelling was ORIGINALLY FIRST used by ONLY the Yorubas and had been a Yoruba spelling right from the Yoruba-English Dictionaries published back in the early 1800s (1843).
Slytiger:
The Ooni was referring to Ugbo who are now Ilajes in present day Ondo state not Igbo (Tribe).
Vanguard is pro Igbo. They are cooking an agenda that failed to fly.
The founder of Vanguard newspaper is Chief Sam Amuka is an Itsekiri man BUT his mother is Urhobo and he just clocked 90 in 2025. Incidentally his wife is from the core Yorubaland while his son ALSO married a young lady a few years back from core Yorubaland as well.
One of the most past Editors of Vanguard at a point was Ibo, so, he simply allowed publications on the supposed ancestral origins and supremacy wars between Nri, Umueri (Umuleri) and Aguleri on who is the "real Ibo leader" to be published in that newspaper. I too noticed back in the 2000s that Vanguard had a habit of publishing all kinds of political opinions and baseless ancestral theories posted by others from the east of river Niger claiming FALSELY that they created some communities in Yorubaland which has NO historic basis because the irresponsible Aguleri chiefs who allegedly said so did NOT know that Iponri in Surulere in Lagos State was ONLY founded as an Awori-Yoruba family settlement in the 1880s and had NOTHING to do with any ancient Nri migration. Aguleri itself was only established 400 years ago as revealed or EXPOSED by the Umueri which contradicted the Aguleri claims of being older. So, these guys just have a habit of sitting down in one dingy corner to fabricate all kinds of random and highly dubious tales to fill in the BLANK spaces of the histories they NEVER had.
It's a historical FACT that I've known since the early 1980s that the Iranian Shiite rulers have been sponsoring groups on the African continent including Nigeria long before we even heard of Sunni Islam or Salafist terror groups.
For centuries, the rich and diverse history of Africa has been overlooked, undervalued, and often intentionally distorted. However, recent archaeological and historical findings have shattered these misconceptions, revealing a continent with a profound and fascinating past.
Here are 5 remarkable discoveries that showcase Africa's significant contributions to human history:
1. The Cradle of Humanity: Africa is the birthplace of humanity, with the oldest known skeletal remains of anatomically modern humans discovered in East Africa, dating back to 195,000 years.
2. Prehuman Origins: Prehuman skeletons found in Africa date back an astonishing 4-5 million years, with the oldest known ancestral type of mankind, Australopithecus ramidus, living around 4.4 million years ago.
3. Pioneers of Fishing: Africans were the first to organize fishing expeditions, with evidence of finely crafted harpoon tips and daggers discovered in Katanda, Congo, dating back to 90,000 years ago.
4. Mining and Innovation: The oldest known mine in the world was discovered in Swaziland, dating back to 43,000 years ago. This ancient mine showcases the ingenuity and innovative spirit of Africa's ancestors.
5. Mathematical Pioneers: The Ishango bone, discovered in Congo, is a tool handle with engraved notches that demonstrate a sophisticated understanding of arithmetic, dating back to 25,000 years ago.
These discoveries not only rewrite the history books but also underscore the significant contributions Africa has made to human civilization. It is essential that we continue to uncover and celebrate Africa's rich cultural heritage, challenging the misconceptions of the past and inspiring a new generation of scholars, historians, and enthusiasts.

Coming from the same people who voted Buhari PTF chairman under Abacha
Tell us Obi's office under Abacha and expose yourself
What are you going on about? Don't quote me here if you cannot put out your thoughts succinctly. As a Diasporan, I keep tabs on events on the motherland and I haven't voted in Nigeria ever since I cast my last vote on June 12, 1993, hence I've never voted for Buhari.
Second, the dude you are referencing said he was appointed as a taskforce Chairman [on an ad hoc basis] on Tin Can Port decongestion by Abacha in the video below.
Putindbutt:
Former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi recently said that Nigeria can no longer be called a democratic country.
In a pointed critique of Nigeria's democratic state, Peter Obi declared that the nation no longer merits the label of a democratic country.
His remarks, delivered during a Democracy Day address, have sparked a flurry of responses, including a notable correction from Jubril Gawat, a senior aide to Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
However, the focus shifted slightly when Gawat took to his official X (formerly Twitter) to address a visual element If Peter Obi's presentation.
Does he even know what a "democracy is?"
It's IRRESPONSIBLE for any "wet blanket" to say that Nigeria is no longer a democracy. Though not entirely perfect since 1999, but it's still a democratic journey. Why doesn't he just simply teleport himself and his sorry ass back to the highly corrupt military dictatorship years of IBB and Sani Abacha then... I just ed, he was made a taskforce Chairman [ad hoc basis] on Tin Can Port decongestion by Abacha as well.
